AIM is successful because we...

• Build Power for Justice.  AIM builds the people power needed to pressure and hold accountable both political and corporate leaders to move on our most pressing economic and social issues. We work with people who want to transform the world—from what it is to what they believe it should be. 

• Challenge Marylanders to imagine the change we can accomplish, connect individuals and organizations to multiply our power, and mobilize our members by the thousands to make our voices heard.

• Set audacious goals, create savvy strategies—and, if necessary, take on the powerful interests that stand in the way.  Drawing on the proven power of person-to-person organizing, we will build the power necessary to create a more just County and State.

AIM believes in...

Leadership.  AIM believes in the ability of people to take leadership and transform their communities.  AIM is committed to training and developing neighborhood leaders so that they can change the economic and social structures that affect their lives.

Grass-roots process.  AIM leaders hold hundreds of small group meetings each year where county residents discuss what economic and social justice issues are most important to them.  It is through this grass-roots process that AIM leaders determine AIM’s issue agenda.

Accountability.  AIM leaders hold themselves and politicians accountable to the commitments they make.  AIM holds frequent “Accountability Actions” where large numbers of AIM leaders secure commitments on the issues that AIM leaders have identified as most important to them.
