Hearing on SB481, Renter’s Rights and Stabilization Act and SB644, Just Cause Eviction

Fri, 2/16, 1:00 pm

East Miller Senate Building, Room 2 (11 Bladen St, Annapolis, MD)

Judicial Proceedings Committee

Join us in person or online to testify for or show support for Senate Bills 481 and 644, or provide written testimony.

SB481, the Renter’s Rights and Stabilization Act, would make it more difficult for landlords to evict renters by raising the cost of filing an eviction case. It would also reduce the maximum security deposit from 2 months’ rent to 1 month’s rent, helping renters afford to move into apartments.

SB644, Just Cause Eviction, would prevent landlords from evicting tenants at the end of their lease unless they have a just cause.

Sign up to testify or provide written testimony by 6 pm on Wed, 2/14, using these instructions.

Email Cynthia if you would like to attend in person.
