Westmoreland Congregational United Church of Christ
“Jeff has had a special place in AIM from the very beginning, serving on the first board and providing insight and political acumen for AIM and our sister organizations over the years. I deeply appreciate the investment he's made in AIM and our staff, always pushing us to be bigger, bolder and more powerful in our impact at the local and state level."

Reflection from Jeff:
“My background is in organizing people in unions and groups to give them a say over vital decisions that affect their lives. AIM has involved me in struggles that really matter, working with wonderful staff and great leaders.
I was there at the beginning of AIM, when seven hundred of us packed inside of church tents outdoors and asked for $15 million for affordable housing. Twenty-five years later, we haven’t solved the affordable housing problem, but you can point all around this county and see affordable housing that has been built because of us. From the acorn we grew the mighty oak.
AIM creates wonderful opportunities for my congregation, Westmoreland Congregational United Church of Christ, to get involved. AIM helped us partner with Wheaton Woods Elementary School. Many of our members now volunteer at the school, and we organize together with the school community.
With AIM’s organizing in the Maryland Just Power Alliance, we can advance not only our county but our state. Maryland has the resources to address our needs for affordable housing, climate change, health care for all, and high quality schools. That's why going to Annapolis is so important, why we must hold our legislators accountable, and why we must grow our statewide alliance and form coalitions to build more power.
Organizing these past 25 years together, we’ve made a real difference. Organizing for our future will win even greater victories for our families, our county, and our state. The future of AIM is so bright, I’ve got to wear shades.”
